Synopsis: :
Phoenix Du, the androgynous daughter of a presidential candidate, kills a thug who tries to silence her. Prosecutor Jade Liu, burdened by guilt over her brother’s suicide and her Catholic upbringing, demands a three-and-a-half-year manslaughter sentence for Phoenix. But after a passionate night together, their lives take a new direction. Phoenix writes Jade hundreds of letters, begging her to wait for her release, while Jade, fearful of her own feelings, marries Meng Ye, the genderless man she saved from prison.
