The way Mei Lin quietly takes care of JingHe in his vulnerable moments is so unintentionally endearing; no questions, no judgements, she just leaves him be and calmly does what needs to be done to settle his mind enough to open up about his issues bit by bit. I laughed when he told her to take the bed, but still expected to sleep in it next to her too 🤣🤣🤣. Well at least he’s gotten over being embarrassed in front of her, since his shameless side is still there, haha

   But hands down they were badass fire together in that fight scene tho, omg 🔥🔥🔥😍… but so sad for Pang, oh no~

5. Ok… so when will the emperor actually begin to take what is obviously going on between his sons more seriously? If he could spare less time twinkling his eyes at his child-concubine (I mean, her mentality sometimes is literally that of a child, no joke) and pay more attention to the CP’s sus behavior, that would be great. Prisoners suddenly escaping, JingHe suddenly missing, and the general in charge suddenly (and stupidly) committing suicide to hide his link with the CP? How does he in his ‘wisdom’ not see the connection?

   I could never understand the ‘clueless emperor’ trope in some cdramas… is he not also a product of the palace? Has he somehow magically never seen scheming ever in life to recognize it happening right in front his eyes?? Sus circumstances with people connected to the CP how many times now? But he does nothing proactively, it seems. And here he is actually sending the CP of all people to go ‘rescue’ his brother… why not just send his own guards with Luo Mei and her troops? JingHe has literally been dodging his assassination attempts the entire time while trying to secure a key witness among the prisoners. It’s like JingHe said, the emperor sees only what he chooses to see. And its pissing me off.
