  1. Wondering if the Emperor knows the monks are all part bionic ? when he touched the gold fluid of the one Wu Zhu fought, he said burn it. He may have an idea they can be fixed ….?

  2. ah thought it would be cliffhanger like S1..he entered in the mine thought they will blow it trapping all and it would end and start again with the gun blowing rocks but NO…that grandmasters powers are awesome..thought the building will slit immediately but they gave time out and fine now FX got his powers back and his dad for sure will not like it! now god know how long the wait going to be for the final one!!!

  3. Kinda wonder why Wu Zhu didn’t show up but I guess he’s probably still healing his injury or rather fixing the broken parts.

  4. Got to admit this was a bit lackluster compared to Season 1.
S1 was so captivating that was were mesmerized watching this series, anxious to see the continuation.
Season 2 makes a touchdown after 2 years of clock watching…..seems to be going good until we started noticing holes, inconsistencies. Characters and storylines introduced and then get sidelined.
For instance, at the end of Season 1 ….Yan Bin Yun’s storyline had great potential for a bigger role at the Overwatch Dept. Except for a few scattered appearances, a strong storyline was replaced with a crazy Empress, more scenes than was needed by a crazier second Prince. Unnecessary filler scenes by Fan Sizhe. I don’t see how the bits about the Hitler Eunuch was needed to enhance this storyline.
There were a few wasted episodes with the whorehouse bit, that set up for Fan Zi Zhe to leave town ….in the overall plot line… unnecessary. Would have rather see the original strong, intelligent, cunning Yan Bin Yun’s development.
What I loved was seeing the growth of family ties in the Fan household, especially with the step mother.
What I didn’t like was the sudden split in relationship between FX and Waner! Why the sudden switch in bringing the death of her brother between them was not fully explored before it happened.
FX’s plan of taking Warner to Jiangnan, gone in less than sixty seconds!!!

Anyway, better stop here. Waiting for the final season …. let’s see how they wrap this up!

  5. It will be about 2yrs before season 3. They will begin filming in 2025 for season 3, that is a lil disappointing. I would have thought after this long wait they would have at least already begun filming part 3. Oh well lol glad there was no major cliff hangers but I really feel something was missing or lost towards the end. It kinda fell flat to me.

  6. lol they uploaded all today, now I can finally binge watch it while waiting for the subs of the remaining episodes

  7. Lol. The ending felt a little anticlimatic, but finally we got to see Ye Liu Yun’s skill level. I thought this season’s ending would be similar to the previous. Things have been progressing too smoothly because the events are still going according to FX’s plan, but I guess the start of season 3 will be when shit hits the fan.

My most favorite episodes this season were probably between ep20 to ep33. The pace was right. The dialogues were perfect and well balanced. And honestly I felt that the dialogues in the first 10 episodes weren’t up to par with season 1, but thankfully it got so much better towards the second half. This season’s outfits were really nice, and I especially like Fan Xian’s outfits this season.

Besides some over-explaining happening in the first half of the season, some characters also seemed to have a different personality this season. For example, Shadow suddenly speaks more than one-liners, Ye Ling Er seemed to have become even more naive than she was in season 1, and although it didn’t bother me much, Crown Prince also seemed a little too dramatic this season. I might remember it wrong about the Crown Prince in season 1, but his behavior this season sort of fit his agendas too. It also shows how fake and pathetic he is especially with his dumb act and crocodile tears.

Enjoyed the introduction of some new characters as well like 1st prince and the cute princess, Deng Zi Yue, and even though I preferred the quiet Shadow, I’m glad we got to see more of him this season too. Lol.

I think this season was better than season 1 in certain parts, but also fell short in some. I won’t say it has outdone the first season because season 1 was pretty solid, but season 2 was not bad at all. Sure it had its flaws, but it was still quite enjoyable overall and I wouldn’t mind watching it again. The curve for the last 2 episodes did fall a little, to be frank, and the most exciting part for me was Ye Liu Yun’s appearance. Without that, I think the last few episodes would’ve felt a little bland. But it’s understandable because this is the start of a new arc and it needs to slowly build up again.

And the final shot got more exciting after I read up on FX’s internal energy. Though I’m not entirely sure how it works, so please correct me if I’m wrong. (Contains spoiler not shown in season 2) The internal energy that FX cultivates is the same as the Qing Emperor’s. And apparently to become grandmaster level, you have to destroy that energy to rebuild it and become stronger. That’s how Qing Emperor became so powerful. So now that FX has regained his internal energy, I don’t know if he will become stronger, or he just regained what he used to have. Because according to some explanation, FX missed the chance since he didn’t know. So with him regaining it now, I’m not entirely sure what it means. But one thing is for sure, and that is he can fight again.

Well, season 2 sure was a swift ride. Can’t believe it finished airing in half a month. Really hope we won’t have to wait that long for season 3!
